6 months

Its been a while since I have been able to update my blog so ill do my best to inform ya about the progression of Brystal. On July 8th was Brystal's first time eating baby rice cearel. She hated it an gave a look that it was awful. Next day Aunt Sandy bought her applesauce and it was hard feeding her it. I never thought it would be difficult to feed her baby food, but it is. I figured she would enjoy a new taste, but nope that was not the case.
In June got her first immunization shots. I was so worried for her. Im glad daddy came with us.
Now that Brystal is 6 months old, she can sit up (but is still wobbly), she seems to laugh at kids, but not adults, she just started to growl 2 weeks ago for some odd reason, i can braid her hair in 2 pigtails, she can lock her legs when we stand her up, and grins a whole bunch.
Right now I'm working on feeding her from a bottle with express milk since I will be returning to school at the end of this month. She does not like the bottle at all. So I hope things will get better with that and with the baby food.
She is becoming better at sitting in her car seat and not crying which I am thankful for. She loves for us going out on walks in her stroller. she never throws a fit when she is in there.
Brystal flew on her first plane ride Sunday, July 22, 2012 to North Carolina. We had a red eye flight and she did amazing. But once we came back, she was the complete opposite, she cried, and didnt want to sit still. Thank goodness I was not alone. I had the wonderful helpers of my mom and my cousin Stephanie. We had fun out there at Myrtle Beach with the family. Sadly Gerald stayed behind. We missed him. This was my Grandma Geneva's firsts time seeing baby girl. I am so happy Brystal  finally got to meet her Great-Grandma on my side of the family, 2 down, one to go. Brystal still needs to meet her other Great-Grandma Phyllis all the way in Alaska.

Brystal's Laughing Party

Since Eva made Brystal Laugh, she made a wonderful meal for everyone to enjoy.

Eva hold the wedding basket and makes
sure the entrance always faces east. (its by her feet)

Then Eva gives everyone Sea Salt
when they place their plate on the basket

Candy is given out, and the more that is given,
the more giving Brystal will be!
Brystal touches every ones plate

3 months

Brystal's neck is becoming stronger and it is getting easier to hold her to where we don't have to be so careful supporting her neck. She does not like to be held like a baby any more, she wants to see the world. Her favorite way to be held is over the shoulders with her arms hanging over or faced forward.

This is our first family hike together. Brystal is so much like me, because when daddy was caring her in the sun she was fussy until she was in the shade and felt the cool breeze.
She has really started to rebel against her car seat. It's so hard now to just travel to the store, because I would rather wait till she is asleep to put her in her car seat. It just breaks my heart seeing and hearing her cry in her car seat. It has helped, by making sure I give her lots of love, being well fed, and having a clean diaper; but sometimes it doesn't always work. There has definitely been a difference from when she was 2 months, to when she turned 3 months traveling to AZ. It is a lot harder to travel this time around.

May 30th was the first time BOTH Brystal and I have been away from Daddy, and it was for 11 DAYS TOO!!! Talk about torture. Gerald said he now knows how Grandma Sarah feels when she leaves Brystal and I to return home.

Had a lovely Mother's Day, pretty much the best Mother's Day Ever! I'm thankful for my family

May 15th Brystal Laughed for the first time today! Her cousin, to be more specific her 2nd cousin, Eva who is 3 years old made her laugh. I was holding Brystal on my lap and Eva came up to Brystal and was talking to her and showing her an invitation in front of Brystal's face. Then my baby girl laughed. So now Raquel, Eva's mom, gets to make dinner for everyone to celebrate Brystal, "experiencing happiness for the first time." I was talking to her dad, Terrell, and he said "I hope Brystal takes on the trait of Eva's sleeping pattern and not her drinking juice pattern. She will not drink water and will not be satisfied until she has her juice. My advice, don't give her juice." He is so funny. Her party will be the same day as my Birthday, May 24th.

Brystal's Blessing Day - Sunday April 8, 2012

Easter Sunday was the day Brystal got blessed in our Church. Gerald gave her a beautiful blessing. Both grandmas came, Dickson and Secody, as well as Great Grandma Begay. After the blessing we celebrated Easter dinner at Brittany's house. We had ham with Tatortot casserole and salad. Gigi, my mom likes to be called that rater than grandma, was so excited for Brystal's first Easter. She put Brystal in her Easter Basket. It was so cute. Brystal is also on the verge of laughing. Any week now she will be. For those of you who don't know, in the Navajo Tradition, when a baby laughs it is a big deal, as big of a deal as a wedding. It's because baby brings a balance of life and we celebrate her happiness in this world. They believe who ever makes baby laugh, baby will inherit some characteristics of that person, and that person then has to cook for everyone. At the dinner there will be salt and sugar for baby to touch and place on everyone's plate too. Gerald has been trying his hardest to get baby girl to laugh.
